I began drawing the Western Lowland Gorillas at the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston in 1994, while I was a student at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. For more than 28 years, I have continued to draw these gorillas on site. This long-term, dedicated practice has profoundly shaped my life and continues to influence all of my work.
