In the early 2000s, while drawing at the zoo, I began to notice that my focus naturally expanded to include the humansat the zoo. To more fully reflect my lived experience there, I felt the work needed to hold both worlds. My response was to create a personal visual narrative, using pattern and repetition influenced by traditional Toile de Jouy. This series is ongoing.
